Mr. Mills practices in the area of civil litigation and appeals, with particular experience in matters involving insurance coverage, insurance defense, trucking liability, premises liability, products liability and defense of personal injury.  He is a member of the Defense Research Institute, Council on Litigation Management, and Trucking Insurance Defense Association.   

Mills & Associates has represented coverage and defense clients for over 15 years.

296 Mr. Mills is licensed to practice before the Nevada Supreme Court and the Utah Supreme Court.  He is also licensed to appear before the United States Supreme Court, the U.S. District Courts for the Districts of Nevada and Utah, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Mr. Mills is a 1983 graduate of the University of Utah College of Law.  Upon graduation, Mr. Mills served on active duty with the U.S. Army in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps.  In 2005 he retired from the Nevada National Guard as a Lieutenant Colonel with 22 years of service, both active and in the Guard and Reserve.  Upon retirement he held the position of the Nevada State Judge Advocate.

Most recently, Mr. Mills has created 3 Blogs for the benefit of the insurance industry.  He serves as editor and publisher of the Nevada Insurance Law Blog, the Nevada Coverage and Bad Faith Blog and the Nevada Trucking Law Blog.

Ms. Hanlon has been practicing civil litigation for 21 years, with emphasis on matters involving insurance defense, wrongful death, product and premises liability and rental car law.  Ms. Hanlon is licensed to practice before the Nevada Supreme Court, the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.  She is also licensed to practice in the state of California. 

Ms. Hanlon began her practice in Las Vegas with Beckley, Singleton, Delanoy, Jemison & List.  She then went on to become a shareholder and Vice President of Thorndal, Armstrong, Delk, Balkenbush & Eisinger.  Ms. Hanlon then opened Hanlon & Associates, the first staff law office in Las Vegas for Hartford Insurance.  She spent the last 11 years as a partner in Pyatt Silvestri & Hanlon.

Ms. Hanlon is a native of California.  She graduated from California Western School of Law in 1990.  She obtained a B.S. in Behavioral Sciences from the University of California at Davis where she designed a major combining child development, psychology, education and linguistics.  She then went on to complete a teaching credential covering grades K-9.  Ms. Hanlon taught grades 1,3 8 and 9, then transitioned into the California State Attorney General’s office where she designed a curriculum on child abuse prevention.  This led to the Foundation for Educational Services in Los Angeles where Ms. Hanlon authored two books on child abuse and toured the state giving over 60 continuing education courses for educators and medical professionals on their respective roles in identifying, reporting and preventing child abuse and neglect.  Ms. Hanlon is also licensed as an Emergency Medical Technician.  

Ms. Hanlon excels in the courtroom where she puts her background in education to good use, educating juries on the application of the law to the facts of the case with excellent results.  In her free time, Ms. Hanlon volunteers with Golden Retriever Rescue of Southern Nevada, helping abandoned and displaced Goldens find forever homes.  She currently has three Goldens of her own.
